Saddened, angry
I AM a Guyanese-born American who relies on the Chronicle for my daily news from Guyana.

Your lead story yesterday about the murder of the schoolgirl touches me in several ways, one being that I am a parent of an 11-year-old girl and another that the law enforcement agencies would not have the inclination nor would they give the time and attention this case deserves.

A young girl left for school and the school system does not even attempt to contact the guardian or parents?

What happened to the community? Didn't anyone see anything?

We have to speak for the children. We have to let those responsible be held accountable.

I cannot comprehend the grief the family and friends are enduring now and the days that will follow.

I am very saddened and angry.
