A 16-year-old boy accused of raping and then sodomising a 6-year-old girl was yesterday remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.

The juvenile allegedly had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of twelve between July 1 and August 6.

It is also alleged that during the same period the juvenile buggered the child. The juvenile was later told of the offence committed and was arrested.

The juvenile was not required to plead to the indictable charges of carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of twelve and buggery.

He has to return to Court Six on September 5.
